South African teams have two ACGL cups to choose from on Sunday, 8 November 2026: Marvel Rivals and Counter-Strike 2. Both start at 14:00 SAST, with registration closing at 13:55 and check-in opening at 13:00.

Choose your game before assembling the roster. ACGL’s weekly-cup rules allow a player to enter only one weekly cup per day, so these are alternatives rather than a double-header for the same players.

Marvel Rivals: bring a six-player squad

The Marvel Rivals cup uses a 6v6, single-elimination bracket with best-of-three matches. Get the team together early enough to complete registration and check-in before the afternoon start.

Counter-Strike 2: five players, best-of-one

The Counter-Strike cup is 5v5 and single elimination, with best-of-one matches. Its check-in, registration deadline and start time match the Marvel Rivals event.

Read the Counter-Strike rules with your teammates before the bracket starts. A single-elimination format gives teams no lower-bracket route back after a loss, so arrive ready for the opening match.

Registration is not the last step

These online cups are open to eligible Sub-Saharan African residents, including South Africans. All core roster players must check in. A captain signing up the team does not replace that requirement.

A practical plan is to agree on the roster in the morning, open the event page before 13:00, and make sure everyone completes check-in. Leave time to resolve missing account or roster details rather than aiming for the 13:55 cutoff.

Prize money depends on turnout

Each event requires at least four confirmed teams and may be cancelled below that minimum. Prize pools increase with confirmed participation: eight teams unlock R250 for the winner; sixteen unlock R500 split R250/R150/R100; twenty-four unlock R1,000 split R500/R300/R200.

Those are thresholds, not guaranteed payouts. Check the live tournament page for the confirmed field and any organiser updates. We have not verified a fee or platform-exclusivity statement, so confirm any requirements that matter to your team before entering.
