Four wins to take the title

April came through four rounds of the 16-player knockout bracket. ACGL records an 11–1 opening win over Lindokuhle Watetwa, followed by a 9–5 quarterfinal victory against Hamza Moosq. He then beat Kaylan Moodley 6–3 in the semifinal before the 9–1 result against Mahomed secured the title.

Those are the scores recorded in the official tournament bracket; individual leg scores are not listed on the final’s result page. Moodley finished third, with ACGL recording a 2–0 win over Kennedy Kapembwa in the third-place match.

The national final brought South Africa’s qualifying routes together at Loftus Versfeld in Pretoria. Its 16 places comprised eight University League players, six Open League players and two wildcards, from Comic Con and Makro. That gave the final a mix of campus, open-entry and wildcard qualifiers rather than a field drawn from a single league.

For South African EA SPORTS FC fans, the important next step is an international one: April now moves from the national bracket to a World Final built around winners from across the globe. Red Bull’s World Final page describes a unified competition involving national champions from almost 80 countries.

The organiser lists Kick Off 95 as the game mode, with teams and players rated 95. Its Miami programme also includes real-life football challenges alongside the in-game competition, so the event is not presented as a conventional controller-only tournament.

Exact match times and South African viewing details for April’s World Final campaign are not confirmed in the sources linked here. For now, the national result is settled: Zaid April is South Africa’s Wings Cup winner, and Miami is the next stop.
