Galaxies’ Autumn 2026 showcase packed more than 50 games into its 15 October broadcast, with Jane Douglas hosting a mix of new reveals, launch trailers and playable previews. For anyone who missed it, the useful question is what you can try now and which dates deserve a place on your calendar.

The organiser’s official recap confirms appearances from major publishers and independent developers. We have picked out a few highlights below rather than treating every trailer as a brand-new announcement.

THE FINALS gets PRIME TIME on 20 October

Embark opened the show with gameplay from PRIME TIME, the next major update for THE FINALS. The studio’s official roadmap dates it for 20 October 2026 and lists changes that reach beyond a fresh cosmetic theme.

Those plans include a Light playstyle called the Infiltrator, a redesigned interface and HUD, and revisions to familiar arenas. The destruction systems are also due for an overhaul, including gradual structural damage, swinging suspended structures, blast waves and dynamic debris. These are announced features, not our hands-on verdict on how they play.

Castlevania marks its launch

Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse appeared on the day of its 15 October release. Konami’s official announcement lists PS5, Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series X|S and Steam, with an earlier demo covering the opening stages.

If you started that demo, Konami says progress can transfer to the full game on the same platform and account. Keep the demo save and update the full game before transferring. For the fuller breakdown, see our existing Castlevania launch guide.

Squad’s PS5 alpha is the next date to watch

Offworld’s console announcement confirms PS5 and Xbox Series X|S versions, with a free PS5 alpha scheduled for 16–25 October. The developer directs players to its official preview page for access information. The test should not be confused with the full console release or an Xbox alpha.

South African players should check regional access before planning a session. The current console FAQ lists planned server coverage in the Americas, Europe, Asia and Oceania, but not Africa. That is not evidence of local servers or a particular ping, and the announced dates alone do not confirm that a download is already available in the South African store.

New reveals and the replay

The showcase also introduced AfterZero: The Last Drive, My Penguin Friend and Encryption. The organiser lists Steam demos for Gravity Circuit 2 and Tinker Islands, offering a more useful next step than simply adding another trailer to the watchlist.

The official Galaxies website now carries the full on-demand broadcast. Check each game’s own store page for current platform, demo and regional details before downloading or buying. A showcase appearance is not a guarantee of South African pricing or release availability.
