PEAK is scheduled to reach PlayStation 5 today, 22 October 2026, bringing its co-op mountain climbing to a new group of scouts. Team PEAK’s PlayStation announcement confirms support for up to four players and inclusion of the content updates released since the game’s original launch.
The developers’ Steam announcement puts the accompanying update at 08:00 Pacific Time. That converts to 17:00 SAST on Thursday. This is the announced update time, not an independently verified South African storefront unlock.

Crossplay, but not cross-save
Landfall’s console FAQ confirms that PS5 players will be able to join the existing Steam community and friends on Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch 2. For groups spread across different machines, that is the practical benefit of the console release: choosing a platform does not have to mean choosing a different climbing party.
There are a few conditions worth knowing before organising a session. Online console play requires a subscription, while solo offline play does not. Progress will not sync between platforms, and Landfall says it has no current plans to introduce matchmaking. Crossplay should therefore not be confused with cross-save or an automatic way to find a team.

What is included?
The PS5 version incorporates the additional biomes and items introduced after launch. Custom runs also let groups adjust the difficulty and hazards. Those options could be useful for players who want to learn together before attempting a less forgiving climb.
For newcomers, the basic objective is to escape an island by reaching its mountain summit. The route requires more than finding the next handhold. Food, injuries and stamina all matter, and equipment such as ropes and climbing spikes can help the rest of the group follow a difficult path.
Landfall’s game page describes a map that rotates every 24 hours, leaving time for repeated attempts on the same layout before the next change. Badges and unlockable cosmetics provide additional goals alongside reaching the top. A failed expedition can still teach the group a better route for its next attempt.
What to expect after launch
Landfall says PEAK has received its final major update with the Gloom and Citadel biomes, although bug fixes and maintenance will continue while the team works towards stability. Buyers should view the console release as access to the game’s existing content rather than a promise of endless expansions.
The project began as a collaboration between Aggro Crab and Landfall during a month-long game jam in South Korea. Its original PC release followed on 16 June 2025.
