Your next squad night could come from a subscription you already have. Battlefield 6 is scheduled to join Game Pass on 13 October 2026, with Xbox naming Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass as the eligible plans. Valor Mortis and Deep Dish Dungeon are also on the day’s arrival list, giving subscribers three very different ways to fill the download queue.

The date comes from Xbox’s October lineup announcement, published on 7 October. This is the scheduled catalogue arrival, rather than a new release date for Battlefield 6 itself. Xbox does not provide a precise South African unlock hour in that announcement, so check the game’s listing before assuming access is active.

Ultimate and PC Game Pass are the plans to check

For Battlefield 6, the announcement lists Xbox Series X|S, PC and cloud support. Ultimate and PC Game Pass are specifically named; Premium and Essential are not listed for this addition. PC Game Pass covers PC access, so it should not be mistaken for a console subscription.

Microsoft’s South African Game Pass page confirms that Ultimate and PC Game Pass include EA Play. It also explains that access depends on your subscription remaining active and the game remaining in the catalogue. Downloading a subscription title does not give you a permanent purchased copy.

For local players, check the plan and game availability shown on your South African account. Xbox cautions that features and titles can vary by region and platform, so the global cloud listing should not be read as confirmation of local cloud availability. Use the current checkout price when comparing plans; a foreign-currency promotion is not a South African rand quote.

PC players: have the EA app ready

EA’s Game Pass support guide says EA Play on Windows uses the EA app. Its setup guidance directs Ultimate members to sign into the Xbox PC app with their Xbox account, then launch an EA Play title through that app. Follow the account-linking prompts carefully so the membership is associated with the account you actually use.

EA Play Pro is a separate membership and is not included with Game Pass. That distinction matters when a store page offers several purchase or subscription buttons: first check the entitlement attached to your existing plan before paying for an additional service.

Two new games offer a change of pace

Xbox’s weekly release guide describes Valor Mortis as a first-person adventure following a resurrected soldier of Napoleon’s army, with parries, dashes and supernatural abilities. Deep Dish Dungeon takes a different route: exploration, gathering, crafting and cooking, playable alone or with up to two friends.

Both are listed as day-one Game Pass arrivals. If your group wants a break from competitive shooting, the dungeon’s three-player option is worth discussing before everyone commits to a different download.

There is also a backlog deadline: Xbox lists Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 among the games leaving on 15 October. Check anything you are halfway through before replacing it with a new installation. And if Call of Duty is also on your radar, our Modern Warfare 4 and COD Mobile bonus guide explains that separate promotion.
