South Africa’s Red Bull Wings Cup finalists head to Loftus Versfeld on Sunday, 1 November, with EA SPORTS FC 27 matches scheduled to begin at 16:00 SAST. The national final brings 16 players into the same room after a qualification campaign spanning universities, open competition and wildcard routes.

The final takes place in the Broadhall Suite at Loftus in Pretoria. For anyone planning around the event, the immediate distinction is important: this is the final for players who have already qualified. ACGL’s national-final page marks signups closed.

Two games to settle each knockout tie

The bracket is single elimination, but each tie comprises two complete games, home and away, with the aggregate score deciding who advances. The draw is made in person. That gives the contest a different rhythm from a single winner-takes-all match: a player has to manage the position across both legs rather than treat the first result as the whole contest.

The qualifying field includes eight university-leaderboard places, six from the Open League closed qualifiers and one wildcard each from Comic Con Africa and Makro. Those routes bring different competitive backgrounds together without establishing a favourite before the draw.

Sunday’s timetable is in South African time

ACGL lists doors and player briefing from 15:00, followed by the draw at 15:45 and the round of 16 at 16:00. Quarterfinals are pencilled in for 16:40. The semifinals follow at 18:00 and 18:20, with the third-place match at 18:40 and final at 19:15. Prizegiving is listed for 19:35.

Treat that as a rolling tournament schedule, not a guarantee that every match starts on the minute. If an earlier tie runs long, later stages can move. Check the official ACGL event hub for the latest instructions before making plans.

A national title with a route to Miami

Red Bull’s South African event page connects the national competition to the Wings Cup World Final in Miami, where the format combines in-game skills with physical football challenges. That international pathway adds stakes beyond a local match win.

Spectator access and player qualification are separate. We have not verified current ticket availability or an official livestream link, so do not assume walk-in entry or that an old registration button is an invitation to compete. Use the organisers’ current event links for viewing and attendance updates.

For local FC players, Sunday offers a concrete competition to follow: a defined qualifying route, a national bracket and a result still to be decided.
