South African Gran Turismo 7 players can enter ACGL’s Hot Lap Showdown today, Monday 2 November. Registration closes at 18:55 SAST, five minutes before the listed 19:00 start. This is a lap-time competition, so the challenge is to put together a fast, verifiable run rather than win a wheel-to-wheel lobby.
The event is open to sub-Saharan Africa and needs at least three confirmed participants. For anyone looking for a local reason to return to GT7, the useful part is the clear route from practice to an organised result. Enter through ACGL’s event page, not through a TGR registration form.
How to record a valid lap
ACGL directs entrants to Sport Mode, Daily Races and the relevant race’s Qualifying Time Trial. Use a car permitted by that race. Keep a screenshot showing your PSN name, car and best lap, plus a full recording with the display items, lap time and speed visible. A requested video that cannot be supplied can cost you the lap.

GT7’s official Daily Races manual explains an important distinction: selecting Qualifying Time Trial lets you run laps without entering the race itself. The event details also show the car restrictions and regulations. Check those before spending time on a setup that is not eligible.
The public ACGL listing does not identify a specific track, car or finishing deadline. Check the event instructions and administrator updates for those details instead of using the illustrative screenshots in this article as a race prescription.
The prize grows with participation
ACGL lists participation-dependent rewards: eight confirmed times unlock R100 for the winner; 16 unlock R250. At 32, R500 is split R250/R150/R100, while 64 unlock R1,000 split R500/R300/R200. The maximum is a threshold, not a guaranteed prize pool.
Read the full competition rules before entering, including eligibility and late-entry restrictions. The public overview does not state an entry fee, so verify the registration conditions on ACGL before committing.
Our advice is simple: sort out your recording method before the competitive run, save the evidence immediately, and leave yourself time to check the submission. A quick lap only helps if the organiser can validate it.
